NeuroMuscular Therapy By John
Eastman
Developed
by John Eastman, NeuroMuscular Therapy is a healthcare system
devoted to the restoration and preservation of well being through
the gentle manipulation of the body’s muscular skeletal
system and other soft tissue including the fascia. These tissues
may become compressed and distorted due to illness, accident or
stress related tension.
By correcting the imbalances,
compressions and distortions through NeuroMuscular Therapy the
body’s ability to function better and to heal itself is
greatly improved. Not only those fluid systems conveying blood,
lymph and cerebrospinal fluid are improved but the nerves which
run through the fascia and muscles are better able to carry their
healing instructions more effectively to all parts of the body.
Illness, accident, mental
stress all impact negatively on the nervous system, reducing it’s
effectiveness and efficiency. The knock on effect is a reduction
in blood supply which in turn reduces both oxygen and vital nutrition
to all the cells of the body. In addition muscular and fascia
tension reduces lymphatic drainage making it more difficult for
the body to eliminate toxins and waste materials. This in turn
prolongs inflammation restriction and immobility around joints
which can increase wear and tear and reduce overall freedom of
movement.
NeuroMuscular Therapy unlike
other forms of physical therapy is gentle yet very effective.
Rather than forcefully challenging areas of tension and fixation
and trying to “make them to let go”, Neuromuscular
Therapy releases tension and fixation and brings about an adjustment
that leaves the body deeply relaxed, better aligned with an overall
improvement in function and well being.
